Jeff Blake

Jeffrey Blake - CEO

Jeff graduated from California State University Northridge with a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Exercise Physiology. He followed up with a degree in Physical Therapy with an emphasis in orthopaedics and sports rehabilitation, also from CSUN. In 1993, Jeff started his first private practice within the Manhattan Beach Athletic Club for Women. As Jeff’s patient population grew, he relocated his business and opened Blake Physical Therapy in Santa Monica in 1996. At that location, he assisted Fitness America by performing biofeedback testing on athletes using the Reebok Rehabilitation Bike, which is used in clinics across the country as well as professional athletic teams. In 2003, he opened a second Blake Physical Therapy clinic in Marina del Rey. Jeff continues to hire staff with exceptional qualities and experience that value and enhance the treatment philosophy he has created within his practice. Jeff’s patients include professional athletes, as well as professional dancers. Outside of the office, Jeff enjoys fly fishing, cycling, skeet shooting and spending time with his family.

John

John Joe

John graduated from Florida International University in Miami, Florida in with a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Physical Therapy. While in Miami, he practiced at Jackson Memorial Hospital and Mount Sinai Medical Center. He received special training in a number of areas including spinal cord injuries, hand therapy, amputees and stroke rehabilitation. In 1982, John moved to Pasadena, California taking the position of senior physical therapist of the Medical Surgical unit at Huntington Memorial Hospital. He later accepted a position as out-patient supervisor at Saint John’s Hospital of Santa Monica. Prior to joining Blake Physical Therapy in 2002, John spent 10 years as a clinician and director of an orthopedic and sports medicine private practice in Beverly Hills. Outside of the office, John enjoys snow skiing, martial arts and weight training.

Jessica

Jessica Sison

Jessica graduated from UCLA with a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Neuroscience. She participated in neurology research at UCLA, specifically projects involving Parkinson's and Huntington's Diseases, for three years before moving to Florida and earning a Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from University of Miami in 2006. Jessica first focused on neurorehabilitation, primarily traumatic brain injury and stroke, and was previously a Certified Brain Injury Specialist (CBIS) before working with the geriatric population in several skilled nursing facilities. She has spent the past few years in orthopaedics and joined Blake Physical Therapy in 2015. Jessica is an avid runner and has completed 12 half-marathons and 8 full marathons across the United States in addition to playing dodgeball in multiple leagues throughout Los Angeles.

Denise

Denise Beckers

Work Health Coordinator/Physician Liaison

Denise is a highly-skilled physical therapy clinician with experience in sports-related injuries, McKenzie techniques, Workers Compensation injuries, and Pre/Post-Offer Employment testing. Denise is originally from Springfield, Missouri where she attended Missouri State University before relocating to San Diego to further pursue her career. Denise oversees the Work Health Program at Blake Physical Therapy, and our clients and patients love her warm smile and energetic personality. Denise takes a special interest in helping our community and local companies ensure a healthy work force for their employees. She has extensive experience in both manual and active-care treatments. She loves volleyball and traveling, as well as, everything that Southern California has to offer.

Gregory Schuft

Gregory Schuft

Greg graduated from Linfield College in McMinnville, Oregon in 2006 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Exercise Science. He attended graduate school at George Fox University in Newberg, Oregon where he received his Doctorate of Physical Therapy. Greg's primary clinical experience is in outpatient orthopedics working with a variety of patient populations including post-op, athletes, neck and low back injuries and geriatrics. Greg enjoys playing soccer, hiking, traveling and experiencing different cultures.

Margaret

Maggie Everly Ramirez

Maggie attended Missouri State University in Springfield, Missouri and graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Biology, graduating 3rd in the degree program, Magna Cum Laude, with minors in Spanish, Chemistry, and Religious Studies. Maggie was a dancer from a young age through college and was a member of Missouri Sate Diamond Girls dance team. Throughout her career in dance, she sustained multiple injuries and received excellent care from Physical Therapists, giving her the desire to pursue a career in Physical Therapy. However, upon graduating university, she moved to Guatemala wanting to travel and give back to the global community, so she worked in a rural health clinic and taught English classes for 2 years. She returned to the United States and went to Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science to earn her Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree. She is a certified Yoga instructor and in her spare time enjoys traveling, surfing, and enjoying life as a newlywed.

Leize Davis

Leize Davis

Elizabeth “Leize” is originally from South Carolina where she graduated from Clemson University with a degree in Sociology in 2009. Leize has previously worked in the Law Enforcement field, from being a probation officer to a crime scene investigator. Leize began interest in Pilates, which enrolled her into the University of St. Augustine where she received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2017. She’s participated in many Pilates internships and aspires to become certified in Pilates. Leize enjoys riding horses, traveling, being active outdoors and her dog Ophelia.

Brynn 2

Brynn Condy

Brynn was born and raised in New York where she graduated from Syracuse University (Go Orange!), and then went on to receive her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from New York Medical College. Brynn enjoys working with outpatient orthopedic population and especially with sports-related injuries. Growing up, she sustained an injury while playing soccer which required physical therapy. After receiving outstanding care, she decided to pursue a career in physical therapy herself. Brynn loves any and all outdoor activities. In her spare time, she can be found in the mountains skiing or training for her next marathon.

Jaclynn

Jaclynn Eck

Jaclynn graduated from Whittier College and later attended Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, CA where she received a Doctorate of Physical Therapy. Jaclynn is also is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS). She's had experience working in a variety of clinical settings including orthopedics, vestibular/balance rehabilitation, and acute care. Jaclynn grew up playing basketball, running track and cross country. She currently enjoys staying active by weight lifting and partaking in various outdoor activities.

Regina

Regina Mohan

Regina graduated from the University of California, Berkeley and then went on to graduate school at the University of California, San Francisco to earn her Doctorate in Physical Therapy. Regina has had experience working with patients in a wide variety of settings, from Veterans in a Skilled Nursing Facility to Pediatrics in a trauma hospital. She especially enjoys working with patients in the orthopedic and sports medicine setting. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, doing yoga, and painting!

Michalea 2

Michalea Ryan

Michalea (Mickie) graduated from Saint Louis University in 2015 with a Bachelors in Exercise Science. She then stayed at SLU to attend physical therapy school and received her degree of Doctor of Physical Therapy. Her inspiration to become a PT came from experiencing an ACL tear in high school, and after learning from her therapist and recognizing her love for anatomy she decided to pursue physical therapy. Mickie has experiences from inpatient rehab setting to treating in rural health on the Navajo reservation. She especially enjoys treating in the outpatient setting, allowing her to see a wide array of individuals and diagnoses. Being a native Iowan, you will find Mickie enjoying the beautiful California weather and outdoor activities. In her free time she especially enjoys being at the beach, hiking, exploring national parks and sketching.
